For the longest time I’ve refused to buy a denim jacket because I wasn’t sure how I would style it. Jeans are denim, skirts are denim, shorts are denim what in the world would I wear this jacket over that wasn’t already denim? Now I love a good double denim outfit, but I haven’t quite perfected that look yet, so for now I’m staying away. I guess I assumed if I didn’t wear double denim then I’d never bother putting on the jacket. Oh how wrong I was.
I finally caved, and it is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Turns out I was wrong. Denim jackets are versatile, easy to wear, easy to style and a add a little something to every outfit. Since I’ve recently fallen in love with all things denim, including skirts. Which, side note, if you’re in need of a denim skirt head over to my post with all about denim skirts, featuring 7 of my favourites for all budgets // here.
There are dozens of ways to style denim jackets. Over dresses, jeans, pants, skirts, shorts they go with anything! If you’re not so keen on rocking double denim (something I love but struggle to pull off myself) then never fear. Throwing a denim jacket over, white jeans like in the picture above is a perfect way to wear them without going to crazy on the denim front. Ideal for colder summer nights throw your denim jacket over shorts or a skirt.
Here they are, my favourite denim jackets.
